in situ, modelage, dessins et images imprimées,&nbsp; POELP octobre 2024. Une idée simple se présente avec cette installation qui se tient debout comme une scénographie. Une idée simple mais théâtralisée. Elle s’est soulevée d’après la citation de 2017 de l’économiste anarchiste David Graeber : La finance est devenue le plus grand dieu paien omniscient . L’accumulation des richesses de certains est monumentale mais paradoxalement peu visible, difficilement compréhensible et quantifiable. L’installation prend la forme d’un lieu de culte aux inégalités et s’accapare les codes d’une église catholique. En détourne ses codes, et utilise des matériaux peu nobles (tenture en papier bulle injecté de gouache, ex voto en carton, cierge en pâte à pain, etc). Comme une prière profane, Prière articule une collection de formes, écrits et symboles liés aux contestations et aux gestes de la désobéissance à travers l’histoire. L’accumulation des artefacts dessine une cartographie historique, une bibliothèque des résistances et de la mémoire collective. This installation, which stands upright like a stage set, presents a simple idea. A simple idea, but one that is dramatised. It was inspired by a 2017 quote from anarchist economist David Graeber: Finance has become the greatest omniscient pagan god. The accumulation of wealth by certain individuals is monumental but, paradoxically, not very visible and difficult to understand and quantify. The installation takes the form of a place of worship dedicated to inequality and appropriates the codes of a Catholic church. It subverts these codes and uses humble materials (bubble wrap curtains injected with gouache, cardboard ex-votos, bread dough candles, etc.). Like a profane prayer, Prière articulates a collection of forms, writings and symbols linked to protests and acts of disobedience throughout history. The accumulation of artefacts draws a historical map, a library of resistance and collective memory.
